Character Rig from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
Digitally painted in Photoshop, rigged in Maya and animated to show that the 3-D rigging worked. We also had to have a separately animated element incorporated, thus the heart monitor.Tuesday, December 28, 2010
3-D Landscape
3D Landscape from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
Modeling a complete background in Maya (3-D) and adding my own hand drawn animation on top; very rough and incomplete, but enough to give an idea of what's happening. Had lots of fun modeling this spaceship interior.Exquisite Corpse
Exquisite Corpse from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
My segment of an exquisite corpse project, the third part of a compilation animation that three of us had a general idea of the story but each created their own individually without any reference from one another. Very absurd and fun.Lip Sync

First real lip syncing animation attempt, very inconsistent and jumpy, but the acting was fun to come up with. Voice is the great Paul Frees.Monday, December 27, 2010
3-D Character
3-D Exercise from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
Project in Maya where we had to animate a ball hitting a rigged character (which isn't mine) and have him react to it.Pop-Up Book
Spooky Pop-Up Book from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
Made in time for Halloween 09, this was an assignment in my digital animation class to make a pop-up book using planes in After Effects. Because it was around that time of year, I decided to do something spooky and since I loved scary books as a child, I went with a graveyard scene. As you might notice I was (and often am) inspired by Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. I felt the opening was important, so I have it float off the bookshelf and used some digital backgrounds/animation to segue into the actual book animation. Music by John Williams.digital puppet

Digital puppet made in photoshop and animated in after effects. Not my best work but I was struggling with the frustration of the program.Film with No Name
Film with No Name from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
Week long assignment, first one of my third semester. Just needed to utilize a digital method, so I colored it in photoshop and compiled in after effects, my most common method.Finished Short Film
One Helluva Nightmare from Travis Drahozal on Vimeo.
My semester final for Spring 09. This was derived from my final the previous semester, which had less content and was lacking color and sound. This is mostly hand drawn 2D animation that was scanned and colored in Photoshop and compiled in After Effects. I wanted the Hell segment to be creepy and uncomfortable, which gave me a lot of freedom to experiment with animation techniques. There is some charcoal animation which was fun but hard to control. On the whole I wanted it to be an enjoyable yet visceral experience.Emotion
